This symbol is for people who find standing for long periods of time a substantial barrier to accessing services. This may be for people who cannot physically stand or queue for any significant amount of time due to the physical impact of their impairment.
This symbol will be allocated where we can see that standing for a long time presents substantial difficulties, and you require an alternative solution for you to be able to make use of a service.
We typically do not award this symbol to people who require wheelchair access, as the wheelchair removes the barrier of being unable to stand.
If a queue is wheelchair accessible then there is an expectation that you will be able to queue, unless there is a different reason as to why queueing would be a barrier.
If a queue is not accessible then a provider should let you avoid it as an adjustment in line with the level access symbol on the card.
